Broadway Shows - Michelangelo Hotel New York

BOEING-BOEING: A comedy about an American bachelor living in Paris in the 1960's, juggling his three fiancées, who are all flight attendants. TWA, Alitalia, Lufthansa... Christine Baranski stars as the French Maid. I liked it. Very funny, very entertaining!

THE COUNTRY GIRL: A revival of Clifford Odets's play about an alcoholic former star trying to make a comeback. Starring Frances McDormand and Morgan Freeman. Mike Nichols directs. Jacobs Theatre
Broadway Shows at Michelangelo Hotel New York City
PASSING STRANGE: The musical by Stew, about a young black bohemian artist on a journey of escape and self-discovery, transfers to Broadway. This was a huge hit at the Public Theater last summer. It is very good, and very different. Not so much a "musical" but a "singing play."

SOUTH PACIFIC: A revival of the famous Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, set during World War II on an island in the South Pacific. A Lincoln Center Theater Production. Tickets are hard to get!

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN: A new musical based on Mel Brooks's classic film; Roger Bart, Megan Mullally, Sutton Foster, and Shuler Hensley co-star. At The Hilton Theater. Mixed reviews! Not as big a hit as "The Producers" unfortunately... but still very funny.

Eden Spinosa as Elphaba in a scene from Wicked

WICKED! It's the story of The Land of Oz before Dorothy from Kansas gets there. Why the good witch is so good, why the bad witch became so bad, etc... GREAT MUSICAL!
JERSEY BOYS: A new musical based on the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. A pleasant surprise! A great show with a lot of "heart". I like the voices, songs, and how the story is told. Huge hit!
Daniel Reichard, John Lloyd Young, Christian Hoff, and J. Robert Spencer in Jersey Boys

A Chorus Line - Michelangelo Hotel
David Hyde Pierce, Hank Azaria, Christopher Sieber, Steve Rosen, and Tim Curry in a scene from SPAMALOT
SPAMALOT: A musical based on the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". At the Shubert. A lot of fun! If you are a Python fan it's a must. If not, some of the sillyness won't work for you!

XANADU: A new musical based on the 1980 film of the same name. This is a high camp send up of Olivia Newton John, Roller Disco, and the 80's!. Very funny. But it does have some slow spots that need to be tightened up.
